Which berberine you take the pipingstock brand or the wellbetx brand? I looked at it. I ain’t afraid to take it with metformin. I looked at the ingredients. I take other supplements like prostagenix (Larry King promoted it before he died), strong cranberry capsule (one capsule = to 7 cups cranberry juice, saw palmetto, melatonin, 2000 to 4000 mg vit C daily, multivitamin, zinc, cinnamon, I haul the bag of stuff down to the doc and he looks it over to make sure no conflict.

I also drink drops of 35% hydrogen peroxide food grade diluted in water. I also breathe Hydrogen peroxide. Spray it in my mouth and suck it into my lungs.

In addition, I drink tumeric, braggs apple cider vinegar, rosemary, lime, honey mixed in 8 ounces or so of water.

Plus I use aromatherapy oils such as peppermint..clove..and others.

So I really like alternative treatments.

Diabetes runs in my family. So far I am not on insulin and hope to avoid it altogether. My younger brother uses about 7 to 8 grand of insulin every 90 days.

If you know of any other alternative treatments for diabetes let me know.

I take prescription: coreg, tamulosin, and metformin.

I have been looking at this stuff. Tempted to try it. Have you ever heard of it?

I take the one at the link I posted: Piping Rock. That's the Nutrition Express brand.

I was taking Ceylon cinnamon for blood sugar, as well, but when the Berberine kicked in after two or three weeks, I let the cinnamon go. I take a number of other supplements, too, but not for blood sugar.

Type 2 runs in my family, as well. Berberine changed everything for me.

I take one twice a day, first thing in the morning, and right at bedtime, on an empty stomach. Most say to take with food, but I read somewhere that taking it on an empty stomach while your stomach acid is low is better because it helps more of the little critters survive.

BTW, make sure the cinnamon you are taking is Ceylon Cinnamon.
 
@0ndafringe I ordered some of that piping rock berberine and ceylon cinnamon. Worth a shot to see if it works for me. I would love to be able to get off Metformin. Only time I was able to get off was when I fasted for 30 days. Lost the weight! Then started gaining it back. Back on metformin. :mad:

I hope it works for you. When I was taking Ceylon Cinnamon, I didn't get it from that company because I needed 500mg caps x 3 daily. I bought Carlson brand, instead. But whatever works, works.

BTW, read the results of some scientific studies posted on PubMed that showed Pygeum Bark Extract was effective for improving BPH. I've been taking two prostate meds for the past five months with no signs they are working (one is the same one you are taking). I really don't see any reason to continue exposing myself to the laundry list of potential side effects associated with those two meds since they aren't doing what they're supposed to be doing.

So yesterday, I dumped my prostate meds in favor of Pygeum Bark Extract. The Vitamin Shoppe brand was much less than other brands, and has twice the potency: standardized to 25% plant sterols. I'm taking 50mg x 2 daily with meals. I'll let you know how it goes.

I just happened to see your post, I didn't get an alert because you used an upper case "O" in my ID. Should be lower case "o". :)
