Technical Question about Candlestick Bar ?

it's a function of the time frame that the candle is calculated on. I find that using shorter time interval candles such as 1 minute for daytrading is a great approach. That's a very interesting question. The main point is why would one want to look at that. The correct use of candles depends on the classic candlestick pattern interpretation, eg hammers etc

That's a very smart question, like you said you normally have to look at a lower time frame to see the data points Illustrated that form the candle pattern to answer that. A puzzle...

Terr, any relation to medved quotetracker? Used to like it, from Jerry n Mike back in the day

I am pretty sure Medved Trader is the newest incarnation of QuoteTracker. QT was the bomb back in the day. I remember using it with Datek, E*Trade, PreferredTrade, ect

Medved Trader is the successor to Medved QuoteTracker (which was bought by TDA and eventually killed by it). Is better than the original.

(And this is Mike. Jerry also posts here).

Hey Mike good to know, seems like forever ago. Profoundly grateful,, original QT was great, it's what I used to learn and practice daytrading on back in 2000. Amazing how genuinely good it was.

I know right? I remember waiting for those fills. It took awhile compared to today. And those CRT monitors. They were so big and so clear! I remember having 14 inch monitors. ;)

QT did work great.

This is impossible to know with the data displayed. There's only four values, for what you want there needs to be an intraday timestamp for high and low.
