Technical Analysis software

Hi,

I am looking for some software solution which can leverage yahoo finance EOD data (because Yahoo Finance data is free). If software can deal with moving average and 1/3/6 month return (market return) that would be more than enough.

I can do some basic level of programming if required.

Looked at couple of commercial software like Amibroker/ionDesk/TradeIdea etc some charge extra for data and some of these softwares require good programming skills.

Cool-trade is good but is expensive for the capital that I am planning to put for testing. If the software can run offline (locally on the PC) even that is good..I am not looking high-speed trading

Also looked at stockfetcher.com but their data is not in good shape (most of it not adjusted to dividend)

Any suggestions will be helpful.

Thanks for everyone's reply on this thread.

I could have considered TradeStation but my need is not the speed of trading but want to use automation to take emotion out of the business and also to avoid mundane task of monitoring the market closely.

Plus currently I am with window based brokerage a/c which costs me less and is sufficient for the strategy that I am thinking of
