do you plan on providing any proof outside of your claims of success?

collective2 is waiting for you to post the system. why are you hesitating?

ok, thank you, burn the witches who disagree. resorting to threats is not an answer.

there is no libel whatsoever in questioning your claims. attending your class, to see you trade with my own eyes, is akin to watching uri geller bend spoons. yeah, it looks good, but is it real??

please specifically define what your original finding (s) are--- i'll be happy to retract that statement, once i know what your finding(s) are.

thanks,

You pompous ass. I welcome constructive discussion on what I do. Those not wishing to hide have personally reviewed what I do and walked away satisfied. One of those was an individual YOU appointed (Hombre) to review it, then ignored his responses. You have even repeatedly ignored his comments to you every since.

http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showt...5&pagenumber=13

A number of people have contacted Hombre and he has substantiated the fact you ignored his comments regarding the class.

What I stated earlier is definitely NOT a threat it is a promise.

You again have NO CLUE what I offer in my class so statements to the content is again a lie.

What I do is precisely laid out in this forum and if you weren't so lazy you could read and confirm that out for yourself, many other already have.

Hey folks.

I find it hard to believe that you folks are willing to have any kind of dialogue with Rcanfiel...I put him on ignore a while back.

An ET member who is a licensed medical professional has suggested that Rcanfiel displays the symptoms of a person who has a problem called "Cognitive Dissonance". I am ignorant about this subject and am reading about it now..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_dissonance

Frankly I just thought the guy was a class A asshole but apparently there is more to it than that.

I find him a much more sympathetic character now that I know he has a psychological disability. The gentleman who suggested it tells me that this is a growing problem and that he sees it much more often now that the internet exists. I need to give this a little bit of thought, but I think we should give sick people a little bit of a break, don't you?

Steve

Wow, good point Steve. I won't feed the sickness from this point on. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

:D

You know Prof, the more I think about it....This silly thread reminds me of an episode of the old sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond"....

In that episode, Debra, Ray's wife, tells him that the stove is broken (as everyone knows, she is a terrible cook) and Raymond takes a beat...and then provides the punch line.."Well, its not like Van Gogh lost his paint brush"....hah, hah, hah...

So I think about that when retail traders start threads like this one...

It seems to me that the analogy is apt in this case as well....If in fact "Technical Analysis Doesn't Work" for these folks...then (hesitating for a moment) hey, its not like Van Gogh lost his paint brush...:D

Best Regards,
Steve (the Van Gogh of trading)

Perfect analogy. May I use that one?

My daughter is a budding fashion designer in LA & Asia and is constantly telling me I have no fashion sense. She won't leave her house unless she is dressed "in the trend". What works for her doesn't do a thing for me and what rocks my world is immaterial to her. If she only knew how alike we really are. :D

To give some sense to this thread:

http://www.coloringpage.org/
(not your real age but year mental age counts, so don't worry, most of you will be allowed)

Perhaps Baron can give something for the nicest drawing.

I never understood the meaning of the word "Elitetrader". Since i read this thread i'm more confused than ever before. Is what happens here being an "Elitetrader"?

My son (12 years old) doesn't understand whap's happening either. I told him he's too old for that kind of postings.

There are few ways to "give sense" to a thread titled
"technical analysis doesn't work"

One way would be to testify about one's experience using technical analysis.

Another would be to provide some alternative that does work

Yet another would be to refute the comment that it doesn't work.

These are the logical alternatives and when they are exhausted one is left with the whimsical, the mystical, the profane and the downright silly (like coloring on the internet)...

Now at 1:30 am PST I find I have run out of patience and although I would like to be a person of inexhaustible good will I really don't care anymore..

Good luck everyone

Steve

FWIW,

Cognitive Dissonance isn't an isolated condition or pathology.

Its a universal human trait associated with 'lower levels' of cognition.

Instead of talking about Cognitive Dissonance, read about Cognitive Resonance. Essential to successful trading.

If you read these articles you maybe will understand why TA works for some and does not work for others.
It took me more time to train my brain in following my system, than it took to develop that system. The human brain is not trained to do TA, you must learn it how to react in specific situations.

The results can be very spectacular.
I'm an adept of behavioral finance.
