How about defining your P/L mathematically?

Because so far the extent of your on record trading is a 26% loss in a trading contest

Poor math

Point taken, and I agree. But you also speak in absolutes. Kindly demonstrate your own acumen. What's good for the goose...

A good example is fatrat's commentary on the job market. He is now skilled enough to see when he is talking to a potential employer who is stuck. Neither renfiel nor surf could see this even onec in their lives. None of these people has ever been employed by an unstuck employer.

Huh??? "Stuck"??? I don't remember seeing that on Monster or Careerbuilder.com, Jack. But thanks for that commentary on the employment scene. ???

Fatrat is an honest-seeming person pursuing degrees, who needs to get up and knock on doors and network, not look for a escape like, "with my disability they may not hire me" or "oh well, there is always academia or doing it on my own even though i have not done so yet."

I do not remeber saying TA increases one's probabilities!

Then what the heck is it useful for?

One's probabilities to do what !? Go to the toilet or what !??!?!

Oh sure..."Market neutral" is still in vogue, though this latest "correction" shed some light on the true risk.

I think you may be correct that the supposed pure stat arb boys may be tilting their baskets by as much as 30%...Just a hunch...

yeah, and i bet tons of opps still exist in the emerging markets outside of US.

i interviewed don bright's top stat arb guy--darrin clifford--it makes good reading for those who are new to this idea.

...And so, the intellectual powerhouses known as marketsurfer and rcanfiel would not deign to respond to my inquiries. These trading titans could not be bothered to condescend to my lowly level and address the petty questions that I put before them. Who cam blame them? Those destined for greatness have no time for details.

Really? Your academic credentials and/or your trading performance numbers are available for viewing? Could you kindly point to a hyperlink for me? And would that be your NYC office on 5th Avenue?
