No harsh feelings felt, thanks. I have been involved at one level or another in this game since 1990. Traded professionally and as a hobby as well as worked as a TA analyst and advisor to a fund. I learned that there are traders with huge edges that I couldn't even imagine or access in my own account--NONE used TA--- therefore, my skills are better used to provide access to these folks for ultra high net worth clients who are looking for diversification--instead of trading the money in my own operation. I only get paid based on performance, nothing else, so I have a vested interest in the clients success. In years of looking, not one edge provider used TA.....

No, Nothing is invested via the advisory in US stocks Things like electricity arbitrage, volatility arb, water rights, Indian ADR/GDR arb---- things with real edge. Everyone has a fund that trades stocks-- too much money and competition in that space. These things are generally not accessible to everyone---hence my value add.

This was in 2000 to 2002. I was a serious TA guy then, card carrying MTA member and would fight to the death defending TA. Then, I began evolved and began to understand the truth.p---first serious esoteria like Gann as my first trading mentor taught me-- then finding edges in unexpected places in both stocks and other tradable instruments....
Bro....the only 'truth' is you can't take anything at face value. TA is both an art and a science and the art part takes years to develop. If you couldn't make it work, that does not mean that it's all some sort of lie.

I believe it's a subjective art. If it was a science it could be quantified and programmed. Sure, some appear to make it work, although I have never met one who was successful-- without selling something. You can't sell subjectivity hence the disconnect between system TA sellers and reality.
Just like some fisherman can read the surface of the water and know hungry fish are there. TA artists may be able to read charts, but this if it exists is a subjective intuitive art that is not teachable as a system to others.
What is truth? TA is an aggregate of formulas that output certain numbers depending on the input. There is no truth to TA. It just is. It is truth insofar as it provide the correct calculations in accordance to the inputs that are entered.
Also to assume there is truth in the market, is to assume that there is some sort of truth in price. But I argue price is more a perception of reality than reality itself. Price floats free and is determined by others. TA will never be able to determine truth in price, but it may help in understanding the psychology of market participants and their view on current prices.
Like I said, I don't doubt you.
