Technical Analysis College Course?

Fellow Forum Members,
Live in Orlando and after hours of investigation I have found out that learning Technical Analysis in a college classroom setting, usergroup setting or a club setting doesn't exist here in Orlando. If my goal is to learn technical analysis trading together with other people (so that I can develop friendships or trading buddies), where and how should I look for this?

The only place I have found here in Orlando through the internet is a place that for $3,000 provides a couple days of workshops and some substandard DVDs on trading. I'm staying away from this place because I think they are shake down operation.

Nevertheless, does a subject like technical analysis ever get taught in college evening courses? I would like to know this so I can continue my search with more optimism. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

I don't think you'll find it. First of all, I don't know how much finance is taught as evening courses. Second of all, the academic world doesn't think profitable trading is possible, and certainly not that TA works. I don't think you'll find a college level class anywhere teaching TA but I could be wrong. Let me know if you turn somethink up.

Spend $500 in good books and hang out the sites like ET for like two hours a day and in a month you will know lots of TA. Want to spend some more? Buy the last 5 years of TASC for roughly $250 or so. Self taught is the longer term IMHO.

At Golden Gate University you can get a Graduate Certificate in Technical Market Analysis.

there is another one down in Lousiana. Can't remember if it was Baton Rouge or New Olreans. Those that come out of the course generally go to work for the pelican fund based in the same town. Was a major write up done on them a couple of years ago. You did graduate work under the funds supervision and if you passed mustered during the course you got hired.
