Virginian I must cavil that the posting is heavy on ad hominem and more than a mite light in ipso facto. First destroy from within, seditious agitators advise. And what is more ET than Jack? So I say, bewar furrin' influences!

Let us set the record straight on this able civil servant and benefactor of philanthropic groups everywhere. Nowhere in the lit'chure will you find even a whiff of hint of a suggestion that there is a complex relationship between price and volume. Right or wrong in its details, Jack invented the PV relation.

Fu'ther, nowhere at enny time did ennyone propose that the price of a smaller index might lead the price of a 'nuther bigger one. Right or wrong, 'an I have my 'pinion, Jack said it first.

Nobody is making any "ad hominem" comments around here. Neoxx trades his way into a hole day-after-day after three months of hardcore tutoring from Jack and we comment on it ... that's it.

There is a way to anlyze volume in relation to price but it isn't bar-by-bar on a five minute chart.

There is an index that you want to watch in relation to the ES, but it ain't the YM (it was on the ES Journal thread that somebody was doing a lot of work on the DAX ... don't remember the wanker's name though).

I will add to the right honorable Mr. Jackson's observations this little trick I learnt from Jack. There is always a problem of attention when trading in one time frame whose properties are influenced by another. An example, for those who watch volume forming in five minutes, is wondering how that volume is building up in, say, one minute. Rather than have us watch a faster time frame, Jack "pro-rates" (his dreadful term) the volume. That is, he predicts what the bar volume will be at the close in five minutes based on how it is evolving. I don't like the way Jack does it, so I have my own code and representation, but the result is the same. Useful.

Funny you say you don't like the way Jedi Jack does it. That's the way I see Jacks stuff too... so near and so far. Try Wickoff and you'll see where Jack makes his volume errors.

I know exactly what you mean, and would strongly recommend that you revert to using just the ES chart.

It was only when I did this that I realized how much there was that I wasn't seeing clearly.

I think a reasonable target would be to stick to just the ES until consistently exceeding the ATR, and only move on to additional tools when further refinement is needed.

Is this going to be the first thread in the whole history of ET that not one Stopped Critical Thinking hypnotized lab rat leaps to their Jedi Master's defense?

It's price, and manipulations of price, that determine a trader's ability to trade successfully.

The OP states the 1% rule he obeys to deal with trading and investing. He got to this place by decsions he made and the consequences given to him.

This is a sympathetic state and status.

The three principles of the algorithm lead to the opposite state and status: parasympathetic.

The sympathetic stae denies a partnership and the parasympathetic state affords the partnership.

How this comes about has been explained and illustrated in the Technical Strategy thread.

The RESULT is that a person either trusts the market or he doesn't. The OP doesn't and he cannot.

I spent considerable effort and content and machinerey to deal with this in the Technical Strategy thread. The emwave pc measures the range of coherence from sympathetic to parasympathetic. Trust, when gained and maintained, is registered as parasynpathetic (full coherence).

SCT traders demonstrate their partnership with the markets and the partnership's principal characteristics: trust and dealing in certainty.
