Teaching Ignorance: The Infiltration of Creationism is Dumbing Down our Youth

Teaching creationism is the least of the public schools' problems.

As a parent of two school-age kids I can tell you that public schools (at least in California) are circling the drain for the following reasons:

1. About 25% of the teachers are incompetent and should be fired immediately. There are also some great teachers but, tragically, they are the minority. At least half the teachers are bad or mediocre.

2. About 50% of parents are incompetent and should be fired immediately. Bad parents make bad students. Too many parents are either uninvolved in their kids' education or they're involved in the wrong way (e.g., want to be their kids' friends instead of acting like parents.)

3. At least 50% of school administrators are incompetent or unnecessary and should be fired immediately. School districts are bloated with useless bureaucrats who consume funds that should be spent educating students.

We took our kids out of public schools and put them into a private school where they're getting a great education.

Lol, good post, BUT, your description of teacher competence... seriously, that sounds like a normal bell curve.

I am all for science...

But these et atheists are for leftist science being taught....not real science.

They would never let the kids know that science has no evidence life evolved from non life.

They would never let the kids know that our universe appears finely tuned.

I would like to see real science not scientism taught in text books.

I never said they were "below average." I said they were "bad or mediocre." Let me clarify: They lack the skills and/or motivation to do their jobs. Let me clarify further: they're lousy at what they do. Bell curves are irrelevant. I'm talking about basic competence.

By comparison, the teachers at my children's private school are very effective at what they do. Some are better than others, but even those that are below the overall average are good teachers.
