Haha....really? Are they??? Right this second they make a pledge to let the masses know that right Now they are ready for zero commission wars??? Well I have to let them know that they are a bit too late to the zero commission war game. 6 years Robinhood has been around offering free commissions and it's only now ameritrade jumped into the game, and let's be real, if they were really ready they would have jumped on the no commission bandwagon about a year after Robinhood started making headways, but nope not only did they wait so long, but didn't act on it until Interactive Brokers announced first that they were going commission free.
They would have never went commission free without one of their competitors announcing first. A little late to the game they all are. Why did it take a company (Robinhood) that was started from scratch and only 6 years old to change the entire industry when the top dogs could have easily have done this years and years ago??? Robinhood would have never existed if Ameritrade etrade and the rest of the industry went free trades back 10 or 15 years ago. Too late now, they had their chance on the free commission war game.

Whichever broker that can subsidies futures commission will win.
Fidelity pays like 1.5% on balances, ToS pays crap. Maybe ToS should subsidies futures commission if they want to win this "zero commission war" or maybe one of them should compete with the CME/ICE duopoly and open a futures exchange.
One thing I like about Robinhood tho is you can start trading options asap. Fidelity and ToS has this crappy process of needing an application to be filled asking for pretty much your first born child. Its a joke and I am glad something simple like robinhood came along with a couple of clicks you're off to the races buying options, that is still an edge so dont think robinhood is out of the game. plus they are planning to offer 2% interest too on balances.
