Picture this. You're 16 years old, you get your first car, do you think the 16 yo gives a shit how gas is taxed or how much it is? (This is why it is important not to teach kids the value of a dollar and why this isn't taught in school).
Fast forward the next 40 years, I drove everywhere I wanted to go and never gave gas tax a second thought.
I was po'd when we couldn't get gas back in the 70's more than I was when gas was 4 bucks a gallon last year.
