Tax Question

I know nothing, and I mean NOTHING, about taxes except it's a wage paid to the government so they can waste it.

So I have a few questions:

When do I pay them?

How do I pay them (say I have an account with IB, ETrade, OEC, or whoever)?

Like I said I know nothing so any info is appreciated...thanks and please only serious responses.
 
Why do you pay taxes?

Did you attend a public school?
Have you ever driven on a highway?
Is your home connected to a sewer line?
Do you want the protection of police, firefighters, national guard, army?

Most of us prefer to live in community, and as a community we tax ourselves in order to pay for the things we enjoy as a community.

I imagine you want the benefits of community. You just don't want to pay for it.

To answer your questions:

Yes, Chicago has excellent public schools. Wait, they're probably among the worst in the nation.

Yes, lots of potholes and tolls.

Yes.

Yes the police are pretty corrupt (also there are none on the expressway near me)
