Tax insanity... Americans spend more on Taxes than food and clothing

The entire universe of taxpayers only pays a total of 17%. For that they get access to a network of roads, schools, fire dept, garbage collection, national parks, and the greatest army any civilization has ever had. It seems like a pretty good deal.

He's convinced the tax rate should be 0%. That's a clue about his understanding of any of this.

why do lefties on this board always have to misrepresent things.

I argue for tariffs instead of income tax or capping spending and growing or inflating into balance. it would only take a few years.
far better than the system we currently have.

on top of that... I also have also alternatively argued although not frequently... that we should pay of the debt with a massive print... take back the creation of dollars from the private fed bank... and cease borrowing...

any way you slice you just lied your ass off.

I have made dozens of statements along those lines... so don't go pull a tony and now find a rare quote where I did not explain the idea entirely.

You'd rather believe a whole load of bs about economies and the national debt and pass on a huge debt load to future generations.

any time you wish to provide data to support your assumptions I am happy to read and consider it.

the point of the article has not been seriously challenged by you.

do average american tax payers pay more in income taxes than food or clothing or not?
if the article was fake news as you said... you have not yet made that showing.

Okay. So to be clear: you agree that a family who used to earn 63,000 and now earns 74,000 didn't see their tax bill go up by 40%. You tried to make that point earlier.

You agree that the 41% increase in taxes is explainable largely by an increase in aggregate taxable income.

You agree that the aggregate tax rate paid is 17% for 2016.

So your only defense for the article is that taxes accounted for more than food and housing. Yes. that's true. Are you saying that it shouldn't? If so, why not?
