I notice Targacept Inc (NASDAQ GM) stock symbol TRGT on the new 52 week high price list this morning.
I remember reading that Targacept Inc. is a pharmaceutical company and Goldman Sachs owns 1.4 % of the stock. I interpret quarterly balance sheet and income statements as revenue, net income, assets, liabilities, and equity decreasing.
I disregard the balance sheet and income statements of
newer pharmaceutical companies because goods and services can not legally be sold until approved by USA Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Sometimes a newer pharmaceutical company can develop a very promising drug, insiders might buy company stock, but there is no sales revenue or income until FDA approval is granted.
I do not own the stock nor do I intend to.
