I know I'm smart, no news flash there, I'm also wealthy unlike you so give that a good hard think in your armchair while you brush the beer and nuts off your singletQuote from hirsch.im.wald:
Hello prey, you're welcomed.
You're naive, arrogant, unexperienced and you probably think you're very smart.
That's a definite death sentence.
Not neccesarily so. If you have some good instructions beforehand on how to read the tape the learning curve can be cut down to a whole lot less than thousands of hours.Quote from Steve Tvardek:
Requires 1000's of hours of trading experience to learn how to properly read the tape. If you are willing to log the hours, you'll start to see what you need to see.
You are about as blunt as a fire hydro!! I doubt his stores where handed to him.Quote from Hydroblunt:
You know what dude, you need to suck it up and realize that life is not about handouts. Maybe that is how you were brought up in easy going suburbia but for some people it all has to be done by themselves with no help. I had a very slight idea of what tape reading was and ended up learning it on my own by simply WATCHING THE TAPE. If you read "Reminiscinces of Stock Operator" you will notice that Livermore learned it all from simply watching the quotes and the prints.
So get your ass in gear and start watching some stock in action and how it quotes and prints vs what is in the Open Book. If you cannot get yourself to learn that, then I suggest you get out of trading ASAP because even tape reading has a very limited future.
Quote from pinabetal:
The Tape is the tape. Nasdaq, NYSE, AMEX 5 minute..30 minute..one hour..daily..weekly..monthly.. stocks..futures...well it simply doesn't matter if you know how to read the tape. The tape can be read in ALL markets in all time frames.
I can surely scalp the Nasdaq with just bid/ask size and price and volume, . Don't even need level 2 to scalp it. Nevertheless, many times the moves are bigger but that just means more money if you get the direction right.
Tape reading can certainly help get the direction right in all markets in all time frames.
The tape doesn't lie! That is probally why Gann called his book "The Truth of the Stock Market Tape.
