tampa's "short skirt" trades...

I did the math, and I just canât afford Murrey and his Math right now â maybe after I pay off the margin calls and get the electricity turned back on, but not right now, you know what I mean? So in consultation with several Elite Trader members via PM, and Zelda, a well known soothsayer, and a woman of good reputation in my area, I have decide to follow the work of Jake Bernstein, who I understand has a book I can read.
Well this is what happened.

Clerk Hello, Tampa Book Store, how may I help you?
tampa oh hi, Iâd like to order the Jake Bernstein book, please.
Clerk ah, he has a number of titles available, which one did you have in mind, sir?
tampa A number of them? Well, send me one of each, please...
Within the hour, an Ailed Moving van pulls up, three guys spend the next two hours unloading 863 books!
A ânumber of titlesâ turned out to be somewhat of an understatement, to say the least. This Bernstein fella must have been the inspiration for The Book of the Month Club! And some of them are kind of old -Gothenburg himself printed three of them.
So Iâve got books everywhere â the kitchen, the hallway, even some on the front porch. Itâs starting to get dark before I drag the last box up to my office and arrange them on the bookshelf â which promptly collapsed from the weight!
Aside from cleaning up the mess, I guess Iâve got some reading to do this weekend. Of course Iâll let you know how it goes

A while back there was a thread on thinking like a Champion. Well Iâm not much into the sports thing, so I donât really know who is or isnât a champion. But Iâm watching the tube, and thereâs this story about some chick ice skater â I think her name was Tonya Harding or something. Like I said, sports ainât my thing, so I go on the web to do a search on her â to see if I can find our how she thinks.
I found a ton of stuff, and you know, I think some of it could apply to trading. Right now Iâm trying to locate a couple of guys in Chicago to go down to the S&P pits, and start bashing floor traders in the knees with a lead pipe.
I mean if two guts named Vito and Vinny start knocking you in the knees with a big pipe, it ainât gonna put you in a buying mood â know what I mean?
So if I arrange with the âboysâ to hit the pit about 10:15, and I go short just a few minutes before â are we talking big bucks, or what?

Well Iâve read 278 of Jakeâs 863 books so far, and I am very, very impressed! His work on seasonal tendencies in Bermuda Onion pries is remarkable â it alone is worth the $43,206.75 I paid for the complete set.

Anyway, his cyclical work in Oats is just short of mind-boggling. So good in fact that I called in an order to buy 25 at the market. Unfortunately, they told me that the old guy who trades Oats on the CBOT is out sick today â they said I should call back in a few days.
But I am having a little trouble getting historical charts on Onions (hmm, wonder if Jakeâs office sells them?) â or even finding the symbol. Can anyone tell me the symbol for the March 2003 Bermuda Onion contract? Thanx, in advance.

My search for a couple of âboysâ in Chicago has gone nowhere. Damn. It was such a good ides. In the mean time, things on the home front have turned from bad to worse. The wife found last monthâs brokerage statement â she just about had a conniption. And then she starts crying, and pulling her hair out- it was really, really ugly.
I tried to tell her that losses are part of trading, and then she starts cursing and breaking dishes and she even overturned the couch before I was able to wrestle her to the floor.
Sheâs calmed down now. In fact, she even agreed to sell a pint or two of blood to raise some money to get the power turned back on.
If only we had some kids (sigh).
