Bagram would certainly have been the withdrawal departure point. There was no illusion in the Trump administration that a western puppet government would persist. They knew Afghanistan would rapidly revert to Taliban rule.

This happened out of sheer incompetence. Joe Biden and his crew were not up to the decisions necessary for an orderly withdrawal. They are in way over their heads and simply overruled the military because the military doesn't currently possess the leadership needed to be forcefully persuasive with the President.

The fact of the matter is Trump would have pushed through the evacuation better than Biden by blaming the military and intelligence and shunning any responsibility - as is his modus operandi.

The State Department trying to take credit for the evacuation of Americans that was accomplished via private forces comprised of true Americans rather than Fake Beltway Warriors. MORE TO COME, for sure.

Basic human etiquette along with the executive etiquette would be great too. The surviving family of the servicemen/women were clearly pissed with his fake Gold Star Father routine. ie. continually asserting they he knew just what they were going through because Beau had served in Iraq and then died later.

What an insult and affront to the survivors. A metastasized glioblastoma-ie. brain cancer- was the cause of Beau's death. Whereas Joe Biden was the cause of their sons' and daughters' deaths.

"Do you think the Afghanistan war is over?" the former president was asked by reporter Sharyl Attkisson.

"I don't know because you have people going all over the world and being dropped all over the world right now, and nobody knows who the hell they are, Sharyl. These aren't interpreters that we took," Trump claimed.

"These were people that rushed into the planes, and they were so interested in trying to make it sound like 'Oh, they're doing a good job.' These people, many of these people are going to be terrorists," he continued. "Okay? They're going to be terrorists. They were very powerful. They were very energetic in getting onto the aircraft."

Biden's claim that this was the greatest evacuation in military history.... is just flat out stupid.

Dunkirk had over 300,000. And they were under fire from the Luftwaffe.
