Taliban in Kabul as President Flees

The new and improved Taliban look very much like the old Taliban. Although Blinken did say that the U.S sent them "some strongly worded letters" and that if they misbehave "they will receive international condemnation." So there is that. And there is also the fact that we are sending money and aid to them bigtime regardless of what they do.

It is not like the lefty mouthy women in DC are going to say: "Whoa, why are we funding a regime that is committed to snuffing out women." Nope, those are words you will not hear.

Taliban militants in Afghanistan have shot dead a policewoman in a provincial city, witnesses have told the BBC.

The woman, named in local media as Banu Negar, was killed at the family home in front of relatives in Firozkoh, the capital of central Ghor province.

COVID decisions should have been made by the medical professionals and Afghan decisions should have been made by the military and state department experts, not politicians caring about polls and soundbytes.
 
Not sure I believe all the horsefeathers being reported in media about the American and other evacuees in planes lined up and allegedly ready to go when the State Department gets past all the bureaucratic hurdles.

Looks to me more like they are lined up and ready to go but the money has not been transferred yet. As I have said a couple times, "don't be surprised to learn that Hanoi John Kerry has NOT been working on climate change of late." C'MON John, you know from the Iranian hostage deal that they prefer Euros to dollars, you should have known that in advance. Idiot. Get with the program.
