Taliban in Kabul as President Flees

US could offer to buy back equipment they left behind. :)

:D
You're probably a day late with that one.
"Will it be Bitcoin or Ethereum Abdul?"

Not sure I understand this whole "abandoned" thing by the military. We have left how many multi-million aircraft behind?

Why leave it behind? It takes one person to fly and land these aircraft, especially the helicopters, in an emergency situation. Just to get it from point A to B.

I am not sure I believe these reports of just leaving multi-million dollar craft on the ground to be ravaged by desert scrubs.

I think you have a good point.
One has to wonder why the Afghani that knew how to fly the damn things didn't beat feet in one of these.

And what's up with all the Ford trucks btw?
Back in the good ol' days terrorists only drove Toyota's.
Yeah I know... we sent them there.

It won’t be long to that stuff is broken down from the harsh conditions in Afghanistan. Oil filters, air filters, radiators, tires etc don’t grow on trees for a lot of this specialized equipment

.

That's why Trumpy didn't give them Toyota's.
Maga!

The same people that believe the space lasers, pizzagate, magnetic vaccines, etc., would certainly believe this, yet another one of Trump's thousands of lies.

So Biden saw it through.

Even now, Trump is still fucking the U.S.

the same people who think Biden can undo any Trump policy by executive order and/or the Democratic majority in both houses of Congress could pass any law without Republican support think Biden couldn't have planned the Afghanistan withdrawal differently in the seven months he has been Commander in Chief.:D

As usual, you are false.

I earlier said that I didn't know, which is something few here have the balls to say. I've since learned, after listening to insiders/experts on respected, less-biased sources (BBC, DW, etc.), that Biden could have altered the plans.

You see, it's one thing to guess at something, and swear you are correct; but it's quite another to offer an opinion, one that can adapt to facts, as they become known.

That said, I encourage everyone to do a quick search to see just how often you are incorrect, yet offer no correction to your incorrect position.

You sir, are the worst type of underinformed, closeted troll. :)

I will note that the Taliban already appear to be offering some of this advanced hardware to Russian, Chinese and other countries -- or at least to government-related entities in these countries. The Afghan arms bazaar is open -- come and buy the stockpiles now.
source?

Luckily the Taliban have no training on advanced weapons systems.... they will use it as a fancy tent. And if anyone of them starts to figure out how to use it... it will magically get hit with a drone strike.
These are not "advanced weapons systems". The Embraer super tucanos are low cost prop plane fighters that any super power would be embarrassed trying to reverse engineer. We've littered the world with black hawks since the 70s, and sold them to the Chinese w/o a fuss.

There is probably very little left behind in Afghanistan that the Russians and Chinese are interested in from a technology perspective except for some of the drones and encoding technology for communications. The majority of the helicopters and planes left in Afghanistan are readily available world-wide; the real problem the Taliban will have is maintaining them so they will probably look to sell them off. Who will buy them? Most likely mercenary companies aligned with the Russian & other governments. With the large stockpile of arms left behind by the U.S. in Afghanistan the country just became the world's largest arms bazaar -- which will flood the world's conflict zones with extra gear while serving as a quick source of cash for the Taliban (who have been cut off financially by banks & governments).

Biden To Make Sure No Americans Are Stranded In Afghanistan By Stripping Citizenship Of Everyone Stranded There:

WASHINGTON, D.C.—In a press conference today, Biden assured the world that he would get every American out of Afghanistan. When asked how he would do this, he explained that on the pull-out date of August 31st he will simply revoke the American citizenship of every American who hasn't shown up at the Kabul airport yet.

"Voila! An elegant solution! Knock on wood, no malarkey!" he said to a stunned press. "If you haven't fought through 12 checkpoints of terrorist thugs and shown up at the airport by the deadline, I guess you don't want to be an American! Boom! No American left behind! Real simple, Jack!"

Biden then began hitting on a female reporter in the front row before forgetting where he was and walking aimlessly into the crowd.

"Hooray! A truly elegant solution!" the corporate press all said uneasily as Biden was ushered off stage by a team of handlers.

The Taliban issued a statement in response, saying "LOL."

For the record:

• 21,000 evacuated yesterday
• 58,000 evacuated in total

*early estimates were 80,000 needed to be evacuated. My guess is we will evacuate somewhere around 120,000.

Up to 82,000 evacuated as of early this morning...

It’s hard to really describe what a massive operation this is and looks pretty good to hit 120k, which would far exceed any estimates prior to the operation’s beginning.

Too bad only 4000 of them are Americans.

How many Americans are waiting to leave Afghanistan? The U.S. isn’t sure.

American officials had estimated on Tuesday that 10,000 to 15,000 U.S. citizens were in Afghanistan. Maj. Gen. William Taylor of the Pentagon’s Joint Staff said on Saturday that about 2,500 Americans had been evacuated since Aug. 14, the day before the Taliban took Kabul, the Afghan capital.

How Many People in Afghanistan Need to be Rescued? The Number Remains Elusive.

More than 4,000 American citizens, plus their family members, have been evacuated so far, a senior State Department official said on Tuesday. Thousands more remain: A day earlier, a congressional official put the total number of U.S. citizens still in Afghanistan at 10,000. It was not clear how many of the 4,000 who have been evacuated were included in that tally.
