Yeah actually they did which is why the Afghans had Tucanos and not F-15Es.
The overwhelming bulk of dangerous weaponry and support materials were abandoned by the US military at Bagram at the orders of their civilian leadership.
Not sure I understand this whole "abandoned" thing by the military. We have left how many multi-million aircraft behind?
Why leave it behind? It takes one person to fly and land these aircraft, especially the helicopters, in an emergency situation. Just to get it from point A to B.
I am not sure I believe these reports of just leaving multi-million dollar craft on the ground to be ravaged by desert scrubs.
US could offer to buy back equipment they left behind.
It may be cheaper in the long run. The righties will mock it but I’m sure the CIA is working on plans for just this sort of thing right now.
It won’t be long to that stuff is broken down from the harsh conditions in Afghanistan. Oil filters, air filters, radiators, tires etc don’t grow on trees for a lot of this specialized equipment.

At least they are stand-up guys. Not off dancing at parties with Cobert while Americans are pleading for their lives. One is a dem too. I have not heard that they negotiated with any foreign powers so hopefully they did not cross that line. Otherwise they are entitled to do fact-finding in their oversight capacity.

Moulton and Meijer defended their travel to Afghanistan.
"We conducted this visit in secret, speaking about it only after our departure, to minimize the risk and disruption to the people on the ground, and because we were there to gather information, not to grandstand," their statement said. "We left on a plane with empty seats, seated in crew-only seats to ensure that nobody who needed a seat would lose one because of our presence."
