They will hold hundreds of hostages because their assets have been frozen in the US including some national treasure stuff and quite a little pile of gold, something north of $1b worth. The President of Afghanistan fled with, supposedly, $169m in cash so the Taliban doesn't have any money at the moment.

Uncle Joe will send C-5s full of cash on pallets covered in clear plastic. Cha Ching!

Actually the Taliban has a huge pile of money from their illegal activity. An article I posted earlier detailed their ill-gotten pile of cash.

Fair question. Trump himself said the deal couldn't be reversed.

I can only guess that:

Those deals/examples you listed, certainly have exit clauses. And even if they didn't, they sound like deals, not binding contracts on a nation.

Something about the deal with the terrorist made Trump confident Biden couldn't break it.

The terrorist were interviewed months ago for a cable special (Showtime?) where they were confident they'd be back in charge.

Biden has spoke and acted as though he couldn't break it.

If it walks and talks like a duck ...

Smells like the terrorists have got the goods on somethings/some-people/.

Once the U.S. gets its damage control cover story together, they'll probably launch some sort of attack on the Taliban; probably surgical against high ranking individuals, under the pretext/reason that the Taliban violated the deal somehow. Maybe they'll 'miss' on purpose; maybe not.

It's not checkers, it's chess.

George Fucking Bush started this losers war long time ago, and 20 yrs later Trump made a deal with the Talibans... I mean, fucking wow! I see Republican written all over this total fuck up.

An embarrassment for the USA, the UK and all the other dogs allied.

All allied using far superior tehnolgy, weapons and manpower, end up abandoning and running away scared from the foreign land like losers after having failed, again.
