As time goes on, we now understand they knew a quick collapse was possible. Why in the hell they rolled the dice, is beyond comprehension. The downside risk, stranding thousands.... I pray they can get everyone out safely, but this is looking like a complete failure on whoever assessed the withdrawal. If the Taliban starts going full Neanderthal making examples of people or we take casualties rescuing civilians. The blowback on this administration will be epic.

Afghan troops surrendered without a shot being fired and the President fled the country...I don't know why anyone is surpried the Vietnam strategy failed yet again...

Well it looks like the Democrats are continuing the tactical demise of the US as a leading world state.
 
Joe certainly fucked up the execution, but don't pretend your side wanted to stay there. Trump made the deal, not to mention what he did to the Kurds. I don't understand why either was done, it only takes a few thousand troops, rotate them in and out. The poor 18 year old kids who grew up only knowing relative freedom and now this, it's all just so very sad.
