Let's be clear, Trump wasn't competent, his withdrawal date was 3 months earlier - there should not have been a withdrawal at all for another 3-4 years.

You are completely ignoring that Trump struck the deal with Taliban, if Biden backed out, he would have been called a war monger who wants 'forever wars'. Biden thought he can continue Trump's policy and score some political points, he got it terribly wrong.
