Take the Index Piker Challenge

Sorry for the absence have had lots of stuff going on.
I was working 16+ hrs /day for about a week and a half and no time to address the journal . Then I had some dental problems and a cold caught from dental tech turned into bronchitis.
Girlfriends daughter has ovarian cancer so helping out with meds and living expenses as she needs daily trips to chemo 11am-6pm.
This has been going on for 2 months she has 2 weeks left of chemo.

I've learned that when life goes sideways like this and my ability to make decisions effectively is absent I get out of the market.

I've been flat for about a week or so.

Truthfully have no regrets but undecided at this point on continuing the journal.

I do plan to continue leveraging the indexes.
 
Alright, I'll take you on in your challenge... what are your YTD returns?

I'm at about 120% since Jan 1, 2010...

Acct size well into the 6 figs.
Trading experience ~8 years.
Last year +540%, placed about 2000 trades, spent 20000 in commissions.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. You are wise to back away from the market in times of personal stress and turmoil. Not doing so has always worked out poorly for me. best wishes

Hey, good to see you back.. hopefully your relative is doing ok.

I'm glad you posted this challenge initially, and as I posted, I would like to take on your challenge representing the side of the daytrader/swing trader, so far, unless anyone wants to represent that side with better returns...

I've been trading about 8 years now, and my portfolio value is around the 500K point... Last years gains were 542%, this year my YTD curve is alot smoother so far.

My YTD stands at +261% as of Mar 30, 2010.

BTW, if you are wondering how I just magically appeared on this message board, it is because I have been active on hotstockmarket for ~5 years... and have over 4000 posts there, so you can see my thread I have started, as well as my frequent posting on the p/l thread.
