Take down confederate flag, and change street names in public places?

In my theology class I learned that when virtually every major retailer of flags stop selling them and when the major flag manufacturers stop producing them, then they don't want you to have them anywhere. I guess it was in a physics class that I skipped that I could have learned differently. LOL
Exactly. You can fly them if you like, you just can't buy them anywhere. You have your religious freedom, you just can't exercise it. Bake the cake. You're free to have your opinion. We'll just let the twitter mob give you the trial, the media will follow suit, business will quake in their boots, politicians will run for cover, but hey, free speech for all. New York Times won't publish a cartoon about Muhammad. They do have standards you know. A picture of the Pope covered in condoms? Can't imagine that would offend anyone. Run the presses.

Of course not, but we now know who the cowards are, and more importantly, so does the mob.
Some retailers sell Nazi memorabilia because they can get away with it. Most don't. It's very much a niche market. Looks like the Confederate flag is experiencing a similar, if belated, fate.

I'm sure you could still find outlets that cater to bigotry and hate if you put your mind to it. All is not lost.

Presumably because it's just fine with them if the confederate flag is displayed anywhere but on public property.

You're right. The NY Times, Wash Post and TV networks obviously fill that niche.
