All of China's mobile phone makers use the Android operating system? You sure? Even Huawei? I thought Google products is banned in mainland China. How did they manage to use the Android system? Did they license it from Google? Or is this one of the "technology transfer"'s?

About 70% are android but they don't have access to googleplay store. Google and banned in China but not android. They are selective because there is no other substitute.
Many of the major cellphone manufacturers are from Taiwan, yes. And Google products are allowed in Taiwan of course. Ok that would make sense. Like I said before if China really wants Taiwan under its rule, then go there and take it otherwise it should just STFU. For 73 years, it didn't do anything, it should just let it go. I know it doesn't look good for the image, but nobody gets to have everything it wants, at least not all the time. Better to just suck it up and move on.

Google products including the Android operating system are banned in mainland China but Google products are allowed in Taiwan so yeah if the phone manufacturer is based in Taiwan then, yeah it would be able to use the Android operating system.
Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo etc all use Android OS but Huawei handset don't have access to Googleplay store outside China due the US ban. Xiaomi, Oppo handset can access Googleplay store outside China. In China, there is no Googleplay store but they have their own app store. If you are referring to Google handset, it's not in the Chinese market. China insist all servers are within their firewall.
