T/A Trading Journal

Yes thinking the same here. A bit erratic also with big bars that are hard to protect...

Happy I was quite relaxed today in spite of the jerky PA.. It's me, not the PA after all. Amazing how a market can travel 20 points up and down yet very hard (for me) to get anything.

1: 5... moved 1 stop.. again volatility has really picked up this year and my little stop not easy to use BUT it forces better entries.

3: 5... 4 trades. The last one was too good to resist.

+4 for the day.. decent recovery after Tuesday's poor management.

Jury Duty week. If selected, my upside limited to $150 for
the week since I cannot trade from here. Downside zero though.
If not selected, back later for more clicking.

Excused for the day with $30! Told the Judge I had to trade...:D 1732 was key bounce area from Friday.. worked well. Hourly confluence declining TL and 1764-ish should be interesting. DOW 10k to 1040 proving to be a wall today. Hoping to get long but spectating now.

Almost gave back the County's $30... Very sloppy action and should have stayed away BUT I think it is key to be able to watch such a day and keep your wits as sometimes the best moves can start from sloppy action. REALLY should have kept the last trade as I had no reason to close it.. other than rat thinking.. Definitely felt like work.

Today closing weak is not a good sign considering Friday's daily bar plus Monday's reputation.. Should have been a strong day..

1: 6.. moved 1 stop
3: 10.. 3 trades.

+1.5

Morning Prep..

Markets fool most people most of the time.. Gaps opposing very extreme closes almost always press against those in pain.. for today shorts from yesterday and if they don't get "bailed out" early could be serious strength over 1755. 1764 here we come.. or not? Have to be ready for 1732 to 1754 range as possible but hope we don't return to Nov/Dec gap madness..

So have to think 47 to 54 as a short area and 32 to 37 as long until the break away..

A day I will love to restart.. Hope I am on for Jury Duty tomorrow.. Must analyze and figure out what happened.. Not just a Moment of Madness, but a full day of madness.. By the location of the trades I clearly had a long bias and mostly at resistance areas 55's and mid 65's.. areas I had identified as resistance earlier..

Before further analysis I am starting to believe those that say there is a subconscious part of some people that makes them reject success through sabotage.. Only other thing I can think of is it is Tuesday... like last week..

Broke ALL rules.. traded at open, traded with bias, traded very emotionally, traded very often, moved/cancelled stops very often... must be more I am sure... A perfect day assuming the goal is to lose money as fast as possible.

-23 or so points..

R, sorry to hear...FWIW, your opening analysis was spot on, the execution, of course was a failure, since you did exactly the opposite of your plans. So it's more of an emotional thing, than your trading skills. It's something we all have to battle with, as long as we trade.

You're not alone, I screwed up also. I waited for that 3rd touch of the trendline since early this morning, and when I finally got in at 1740.75, I failed to let it run. Volatility is definitely back, and one must readjust risk/profit targets.

Welp, tomorrow is another day :)

Schaefer,

Thanks for lipsticking the pig....:p Is that the shortest time frame you trade and do you go to shorter ones to fine tune your entries?

I am on for Jury Duty tomorrow so most likely I will not be trading..

You're welcome :D That's my main anchor chart, most of my decisions are based on the anchor chart. Once the decision has been made, I look at the shorter time frame chart to time the entries/exits etc.

So yeah, basically only two charts. Once in a while, I do look at weeklies, and monthlies to keep tabs on the overall picture.

PS: Just say something nasty to the judge tomorrow, and he'll throw you out...lol
