Only after Covid-19 happened, I realized how many pieces of popular culture - movies and books, popular story lines, etc. are based on a worldwide pandemic. People have been conditioning themselves by entertaining these thoughts for decades. Once it happened on that scale(because it obviously have happened before on a smaller scale with ebola, swine flu, chicken flu, etc.) it was just the trigger for that mass psychosis that emerged from the collective subconsciousness. In other words, the objective, unbiased truth about it will probably come out after many years... Everyone now is still emotionally invested in the subject, having lived through it, having gained or lost something because of it, and that clouds judgement.
