A blantantly overlooked concept is every sale is offset by a buyer. After the open, the specialist at some point would have both covered and acquired inventory and peddled to bargain hunters. Then short again. Hence the 22 points of fluctuation.

News is an alibi for the ax to move away from his basis (long or short). The EPS alibi comes (4) times per year. You transact in PRICE.
As for $7,000, that hinges upon your position size and in turn capital. 7K is painful for some, a speed bump for others. IF it was painful, then your size was too large.
