Power cut are very seldom here, but I would recommend it in any case, whatever the country where you live. The only problem is they are really noisy.

I suppose that depends entirely on the type of UPS. However, each and everyone I have seen and used until now have been quiet. I would say more quiet that the computers generally.
Now, if you want a spare _generator_ or a VERY large UPS, that's another story.

Couldn't find any UPS at Interdiscount, got a Maxxtro 
UPS at Media Markt in Geneva, that's all they had, I am not too happy with my purchase, it comes with 3 ports but only 2 cables and batteries can only be changed by a technician. Do you know other electronics stores that offer online shopping as well?
