Switched from Kaspersky Internet Security to Bitdefender

I was reading technet, microsoft and Malwarebytes articles about this very question as I intended to deploy malwarebytes v3 in a small office environment. I received conflicting information.

MS said it was not compatible and would be considered a 2nd AV program.

Malwarebytes stated they received reports of conflicts.

Early today I sent Malwarebytes an email requesting clarification and link to information that their product v3 is indeed compatible with AV programs ie. Kaspersky, MSE, ESET etc... and/or they resolved any know conflicts,

The notion of Malwarebytes V3, "replacing AV" is a revolutionary concept. New now, and perhaps we'll have to see how successful they are.
 
I really like Malwarebytes, great company, excellent products.
(they have recently acquired Adwcleaner).

Depending how they develop their AV product will be interesting, if by acquisition I would be much more inclined to adopt early than if they are intent on "developing" their own, at least in its infancy.

For the business environment, difficult to beat Kaspersky (or other preferred seasoned, experienced company) (Eset, Bitdefender, etc...)

But for malware, they are tops... my current concern is anti-ransom for the office environment.

Hence the interest in pro version of malwarebytes...
 
Update for anyone interested...

According to Malwarebytes (MWB), MWB 3.x is compatible with most AV programs, i.e Kaspersky, ESET, BitDefender, Avast, etc... Microsoft essentials (MSE) has known issues, which requires deactivating real time monitoring, excluding files and/or disabling.

In essence:
MSE/MWB is not a viable solution
Kaspersky/MWB is a viable solution
ESET/MWB is a viable solution
BitDefender/MWB is a viable solution

Some solutions may require excluding certain files (described in their KB's)

I am interested in obtaining malwarebytes 3.x for my home network (3 users) and for a small business environment (5+ users). I was reading articles from Microsoft advising against installing Malwarebytes and Microsoft Security Essentials simultaneously. I am aware of the conflicts between installing simultaneous instances of AV, but I am unclear if malwarebytes would be considered an AV product. I request clarification regarding the compatibility prior to purchasing. Can you please advise if this is a conflict or not.

The workaround for this is to disable MSE:

Open Microsoft Security Essentials → click “Settings” tab → select “Real time protection” → uncheck the box “Turn on real-time protection” (recommended).

Disabling MSE is not an option , prefer to keep an AV program running .

Can you please advise of AV products which do not conflict with
Malwarebytes.

Primarily Kaspersky, ESET, Bitdefender. I would be willing to change AV if
necessary to use MWB 3.x

Or is the new Malwarebytes 3.x designed to replace the AV programs and not
just augment. i.e. an all in one solution?

Yes, Malwarebytes 3.0 is a good solution to be your only Antivirus.
As said we are anyways compatible with most of the popular Antiviruses, you can see our compatibility test report from https://www.malwarebytes.com/pdf/reviews/AVTestingReport.pdf

In some cases, you will just have to set the file exclusions to allow Malwarebytes processes as said in the previous email.

Update... FWIW
Been running Bitdefender free for 3 months now on W7 Pro. No AV or virus issues, and I've of course avoided the half-dozen niggling issues Kaspersky was causing.

No computer is completely safe but there has never been a major worm/trojan outbreak on Linux. If you insert suspicious USB drives or share files in a big network then obviously things can go wrong but it's nothing like Windows.

Absolutely! ... and some traders(especially net surfer kind) still think its ok to check emails, cruise the web(especially porn), downloading BS if ur trading real money w/ same computer.

My trading PC I built ONLY for trading(no antivirus), I use a separate PC and laptop(both with antivirus) for those other things. It really is the only way to go if u have any common sense.
