Swing Trading Futures

Its very common for people to scalp or daytrade index futures, but I would like to know if there is anyone here who swing trades them (ie. for a couple of days to a couple of weeks)?

What are the main concerns when swing trading futures vs equities? How do you determine the % cash you need for daily settlements? Do you people trade outright or construct spreads with back months?

Any personal insights, links to websites or books would be highly welcome.
