My point was that it's very unlikely he got that loss as some form of extreme drawdown in his system and that most likely he overrode his own risk management (1% loss per trade), i.e. that he doubled down on some losing position(s).

He was probably just hard-headed and refused to accept that his breakout/EP strategy which had worked so well for 10 years just wasn't going to work in the bear market of 2022.
