The fact is that Trump only has to turn out a little bit bigger slice than Romney did of older white people, you know, his biggest supporters, and he can win.

No its a fact.Waiting on that little bit bigger slice of older white people has lost your side the popular vote in 5 of the last 6 presidential elections.The 1 time out of the last 6 presidential elections that you did win the popular vote your side needed 44% of the of the Hispanic vote to do it.
 
Would love to see some actual stats from either.
No thoughts re: old people, but Facebook has mobilized voters in a large way this cycle, most fb users trending young and liberal.

We don't really need to worry about the millennials. As they've proven to us old timers time and time again, they are the laziest generation in the history of the world. They talk big on facebook and other social media sites and make themselves loud, but when it comes down to driving to the poll center to cast your vote, they will be lazy. Just like with brexit.

I think we can at least agree that the effect of young voter mobilization is non-zero. While you imply that it is negligible, what actually leads you to believe this beyond an anecdotal assumption? And would you strategize a campaign ignoring that?

If you truly believe it is negligible, I imagine both campaigns would have the resources to know even better. Are you saying they are wasting their time appealing to young voters?

Anecdotally, I know young people joining protests and (lol)instagramming their out-of-state votes.
