I was in Iceland recently, and they are quite to the left. They doing fine as well.

And what would be the common factor with Norway and Iceland? Hint: the same factor is at work in Japan, China, indeed most of asia.

Sweden made the rookie mistake of believing their own propaganda. eg diversity makes us stronger. Ironically, Swedish-dominated Minnesota made the same mistake and now has a massive and intractable problem with Somali "refugees."

This is actually kind of an IQ test for progressives, ie the willingness to live by the rules you prescribe for others. You have to be pretty dumb to turn over a pristine country filled with attractive blond women to arabs and Africans, but Sweden did it. Now they suffer the consequences, which in the end will be the end of their culture.

My post was to illustrate that hard core right is just as bad as hard core left. Pure socialism is just as bad as pure capitalism.

This has been discussed in this forum ad-nauseam. These countries do well because of their culture not because of their liberal ideologies.

I stand by my statement ~ in the long run, liberalism destroys societies. Always has, always will.

Conservatism is a total opposite.

Had our founding father not be Liberals we would not even exists as a country now.

I did a search and there are many others, but you'd likely refer to them as extreme leftists - which I certainly consider them to be. The question is what you would have considered them before you knew they supported Venezuela.

Your argument, if I understand it, is that socialist beliefs have improved American society at one point or another. My contention with the other poster is his comment that an "unhinged right" would support child labor laws, and all the other absurdities he stated.

There is absolutely no movement more than one or two crazies on the right (if even that) to return to such things.

I understood him to say that an unhinged right would return to those practices, which is the basis of this thread, that an unhinged left would end like venezuela or a rape filled distopia.
