i think we can say that there must be a good deal of resistance to reinfection at least in the shorturn NY and surrounding areas would be overwhelmed by now.

You are entitled to your opinion. My opinion is that "protesting" and not following social distancing guidelines during a pandemic is an attempt to kill my family. No different than shooting them with a gun.

For those who are "money less" and "hungry" -- as pointed out by Governor Cuomo there are plenty of essential jobs available - go get one and stop being a lazy slob. Do you have something against people taking personal responsibility and getting a job to earn a living? Especially "protestors" since they don't believe COVID-19 is a serious problem. Should they just stay on the government dole?

I support a path to get the economy back on track as soon as possible while not causing large scale deaths from a deadly pandemic. There are plenty of historical examples on the best methods of dealing with a "novel" pandemic. There is also clear guidance from experts who have studying pandemics in detail on the best way to get back on track as soon as possible -- which involves a 60 day stay at home period followed by a staged re-opening.
 
Herd immunity failed till now. Only 7.3 % of the population in Stockholm is immune according to the latest tests. Expectations were 60% of the population in Stockholm imune by mid june but that will never be reached.

How about we do this, gwb. Lets each put 50 grand in an escrow and commission a poll. If more than 50% agree that it is the exact same thing (meaning same death risk, etc) then you win. If not, I win.

In the current environment hospital workers are more likely to die from COVID-19 than being shot. They view Covidiots including the "re-open" crowd as a threat to society and their lives. If you don't view COVID-19 as such a threat why don't you go volunteer in the hospital they can use some help at the moment.
