Suspend "Cash for Clunkers"?

I remember, just a few weeks ago, several prominent democrats were "pontificating" on television that credit card agreements were much too complicated for "consumers". These agreements are 2 pages, maybe up to 4 pages in length. The Dems were taking the position that these agreements were too complicated for average people. And we need the folks in Washington to protect us from this. We need simple talk for consumers.

Here's a link from cars.gov

This is the legal agreement between the government and the Cars for Clunkers. It is 8 pages long. It must be 4000 words.

Where is the simplicity? Who is responsible for the future lawsuits? Will you bill taxpayers?

More cheap assults on my intelligence. OK, does that make you feel like a genius? Feel better?

For the record, I tried to logon to the cars.gov a few days ago to get more information. I got timed out. I tried several times. Continuing time outs.

OK, if it will make you feel better. I will try again later tonight.
Why would I need to assault your intelligence? You have managed to do it to yourself by making up a stupid step by step plan that is blatantly not true. I’ve been on cars.gov yesterday and today and it has been working fine.

Credit card agreements are not really complicated. However there is this underlying human decency and common sense that implies that if you have perfect payment and credit history for 4 years, they are not going to activate some fine print clause whereby they can triple your interest for no reason other than they can.

Why are you complaining that the law is a whopping 8 pages? Just when I thought your argument hit rock bottom, you pull out a shovel and start digging. The government is authorizing 1 billion to be spent, don’t you sort of like the fact that they set some rules and guidelines to make sure everything is explained right? I mean isn’t it a whole lot better than TARP? What was that, 3 whole pages which basically said, “we give the Treasury secretary 750 billion dollars to do whatever the hell he wants to with it.” Yea that worked out real well.

Oh brother, another idiot response. I said I could not get onto the website a few days ago. That means more than ONE.

I really think this is the MB that little kids hang out on when the market is beating the crap out of them. You kids are so delusional.

Personally, I like to make money in the markets rather than deal with adolescents like you kids.

I have noticed that few seasoned traders show up here. I guess there's a reason.

see ya later.

That is dead wrong. More nay sayer lies. If the difference is between 0-3, you get no credit, if it is between 4-9 you get $3500. If it is more than 10, you get $4500. You would have know this if you had simply gone to the official website. Looks like you’re the pathetic one.

An F-150, which is a category 2 truck and only requires a 1mpg improvement to qualify.

Of course, you'd know that if you actually read the site's FAQ.
