Suspend "Cash for Clunkers"?

Quote from Landis82:

Given who represented the GOP during the last Presidential election, I would hardly say that 2012 is the "lock" that you claim. The GOP got their asses kicked in the midterm elections of 2006 and they've had a horrible time recovering ever since.

In case you're memory has deserted you, it was the first election in U.S. history in which the losses for one side were so freakin' lopsided that the victorious party did not lose a single incumbent or open seat in Congress, or a governor's mansion.

2010 is just around the corner.
I still don't see a "leader" of the GOP, do you?

no. It has nothing to do with high taxes. Those countries are not owned by big business.

A healthy population is detrimental to big pharma, the processed food industry, the medical insurers etc.

If people started to cook healthy food at home, think of all the medication ( caused by obesity and toxic food) they don't need. If people asked for more healthy foods, there will be more smaller organic farms. Entire industries will be out of business.

Guys like monsanto with their monster seeds, mechanized farms. Unlike monsanto and large industrialize farms, small organic farmers do not give campaign donations. It's easy for large corporations to buy influence with corrupt politicians. That's why under bush jr every type of processed garbage was introduced into elementary schools.

plus healthy people are able to think better and will figure out that the earth is NOT 4000 years old and humans did not walk with dinos. Bad news for the crooked politicians or dumb politicians like Palin.

this needed to be reposted, only because laughter is the best medicine

Few glitches eh.

Yep. Just a few glitches.

You really need to take a deep breadth and relax . . . As I recall, there were a few "glitches" during Bush's response to Hurricane Katrina too.

And in that situation, human lives were at stake, not automobiles.

the bottom line is either way, this stuff is rushed through without much thought in the end....period.

Usually you end up hearing afterward something along the lines of "the demand is/was much greater then we initially thought."

Most government stuff doesn't have much demand, because it's hardly publicized to begin with. Throw the media all over it, and sure, the common folk are going to jump all over it if it's dubbed as "free money."

The numbers aren't rocket science. But, lots of people these days apparently want to BE rocket scientists.

Few glitches eh.

Web servers crashing and hardly anyone can log in to process stuff.

Phone lines jammed and busy and nobody can get through.

Paperwork processing so backlogged it'll take probably weeks now to get through.

Angry customers calling YOU (the salesman) demanding where their rebate is...and then wanting to return their car if they don't get it which will possibly cost you commission and the dealership more money.

Yep. Just a few glitches.

Yeah, that's what I hearing too.

Sounds like the "cash" for clunkers is "check is in the mail". Sounds like dealers are getting stuck, handing cars out to retail, but no money coming from Obama. Do you really think anybody in Obama's office even knows how to set up an ACH transfer?? The billion dollar budget for this has hardly been dented.

And it sounds like Cash for Clunkers was meant to sell ObamaMotors cars only (the old GM). If you don't want to buy a GM, don't bother.

Bottom line, car dealers deal in cash, and it's not coming from Washington.

Washington's main output is SCAM, not cash for folks who work for a living.

Subprime lending under Bush’s watch. He could have stood up to Greenscam and Bernankrupt, but he didn’t. Republicans can shout tax cuts all they want, that ain’t gonna change much of anything. Nobody cares about a tax cut when ther job just got shipped to China or when the ceo is making 400 times what they are.

You are such a dumb shit, it's not funny. Bill Clinton's administration created the sub prime mortgage market. They pressured the lending institutions to give these ridiculous sub prime loans. Don't you remember O'l "Clit"on saying that home ownership was a right, and not a privilege???
"Clit"on wanted everyone with that 500 fico credit score, and who makes $8.00 an hour, to get that $400k home.
Busy actually tried twice to stop the practice of sub prime lending because he saw the disastrous implications it would have later on. Well golly gee, look at what happened!!!!! The only reason Bush couldn't put a stop to this idiotic Demo"crap" program was because the royal douche bag Demo"crap"s in congress wouldn't support, nor dream of ending a program created by O'l slick Willie "Clit"on. Of course Bubba Boy didn't think of the consequences either, but then again, he was too busy getting his dick sucked by "the true lipstick wearing pig," named Lewinsky. He was also too busy worrying about his impeachment, going to prison for lying under oath, ruining his marriage, and wondering where his next piece of ass would come from.
Again, you are truly a dumb shit of epic proportions!!!

For a moment there I thought that you were describing what the future of healthcare was going to look like. Then I remembered that the gov will be spending trillions on that little project, so hopefully we will at least get a working web site out of that initiative.

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about.
My local Toyota dealer sold 250 cars this week, and 50 were sold on a Thursday and another 40 on Friday. They were still open at 10:45pm Friday night, selling cars.

You really need to pull your head out of your arse and actually open your eyes, instead of regurgitating the crap that comes out of Faux News.

Katerina glitches:

* 50 years of Democratic corrupt local rule.
* Incompetent Democratic leadership at ground level from Nagin to Blanco.
* Blanco failing to seek federal help or do you accept the idea of Federal troops showing up on your steet without any warning.

Why are most major cities falling apart? Because they have been encrusted by incompetent Democratic politicians decade after decade.
