Critique of some of those studies.
CLARIFICATIONS (thanks to the commentators who requested clarification):
"Flaws" 1 and 2 aren't so much flaws with the meta-analysis methodology, but rather, represent issues with the general concept of using ivermectin to treat COVID19 in humans:
-"Flaw 1": the dose of ivermectin used as an anti-viral on a Petri dish would be too high to safety ingest into the human body - such a dose would cause serious side effects.
-"Flaw 2": to clarify, the fact that only 24 out of 594 papers were included, and the rest were discarded from the meta-analysis, is a testament to just how poor quality and unreliable the majority of data on ivermectin was at time of publication, and suggests that indeed there isn't enough data to conclude ivermectin is a net benefit to humans for COVID19. As of Dec 2021: The vast majority of data on ivermectin is still unreliable and the few good studies have shown that it doesn’t help humans with COVID19.

Yes I have reached out privately to Dr Campbell and am awaiting his reply. Hoping to have a discussion with him. I don't doubt his good intentions, but it would be good to chat. I didn't make this video to "attack him personally". I believe in attacking arguments, not people.

Dr Yan Yu here. I'm a practicing medical doctor in Canada. I have become aware of an influential figure on Youtube, Dr John Campbell, who seems to be been propagating some misinformation related to Ivermectin. He insinuated that, based on the "best ivermectin meta-analysis" published mid 2021, ivermectin can treat COVID19 & prevent deaths from COVID19.

In this video I present on my own assessment of this meta-analysis, using basic tools of evidence-based medicine I learned in medical school. Based on my assessment, this meta-analysis contains poor quality data and cannot be interpreted in the way that Dr John Campbell is insinuating. For COVID19, the risks of taking ivermectin still doesn't outweigh its possible benefits (or lack thereof).

I do empathize with the desire for a cheap, reliable, magic-bullet solution to COVID. Dr Campbell's video implies that this solution is ivermectin - which is incorrect as of my video's release (Dec 2021).

Meanwhile, such misinformation - intentional or not - from Dr Campbell's Youtube Channel is unfortunate, and quite consequential during this pandemic because of the large following he has. People deserve to be empowered with the best scientific information and the tools to properly evaluate science. In this video, I show you how I evaluate Dr Campbell's "best ivermectin meta-analysis" and reach my own conclusions re: why health authorities are still not approving ivermectin for COVID19.

ph1l Yes there are people out there who try to criticize Dr. John Campbell and contend with his analysis and opinions. Paid shrills or not.. they exist.
This video you just posted is 2 yrs old. The link you cite that I gave is an aggregator of current research up to Aug 2024.
I'll tell you what.. I don't have time to argue about Ivermetin, I gave a few resources and 1 is a resource of resources. Here's all I can say.. just buy some Ivermetin and the next time you start to come down with the flu or a cold, as soon as you start to feel you might be coming down with something, take it. For an average size guy 12 mg once a day. Do this immediately and then see what immediate change you feel within 24 hours. The next morning you will feel so much better than the day before, you will begin to learn for yourself it works..

This matches my experience. I'm no doctor, but I was a pretty successful aerospace manufacturing engineer before exiting at the mandate. In our profession, we need to show results (evidence, facts, improving numbers) right away or management gets livid. You don't go changing a manufacturing process without some real Risk Management and data. Horse paste has no side effects from what I could see, if taken immediately when first symptoms of being shed upon appear (headache, joint pain, inflammation, dizziness).
