Correct, I may be able to drive a car to work each day and come home unscathed, but put me on the racetrack and I would be last and maybe smashed up as well. Horses for courses. Depends on your skill level, but to say T/A doesn't work because YOU can't get it to work is folly. Everyone's brain is wired differently. There are guys on ET who describe their trading style and I haven't a clue what they are saying. I don't get it. however I don't think to myself "those guys are clueless", but rather I say "I'm clueless".

Mickey, allow me to correct a misconception. I successfully traded with TA for years. However, when I saw the rules back tested rigorously, it fails. Being in the fund business and mentored by redacted I morphed from mysticism intuitive type TA trader to one that tries to use the scientific method as I believe it's a much sharper edge. All traders evolve and this is my truth. Peace .surf

Technical analysis most definitely works except the subject itself is so complex very few have done the necessary work required to actually discover the language of the market.

I've never read a book that even begins to grasp concepts in technical analysis that I use on a daily basis.

Bottomline, the good stuff, still remains undisclosed by those in the know.

I repeat, there is not a single book out there that even begins to touch on the TA that matters today.... to my knowledge.

If your method is superior to T/A methods, this is great news. I'm sure many would welcome a new messiah. I genuinely look forward to seeing the results.

Makes sense. I doubt the real gold would be sold in a book for $200.
I also think the big smart money pull off trading manouvres that could not be much anticipated by T/A, there are always surprises.

Call me David Koresh, I am your market messiah. LOL!!!!. Just joking! I think what I have is a superior read on the markets. Time will tell! By the way, I'm far from any kind of messiah. Maybe a messiah of pizza and burgers!

Peace, surf

Do you believe that intuition, experience, the human interface --- plays a role in TA success?

Maybe it does for the coding challenged among us. Just like you probably can't write code or even accurately describe how to drive a car through rush hour traffic, you can do it intuitively. And my coding challenged mind just went to cash in 401K account. Caught a good run this year, luck ? probably so.

Nice trading, big arrow. I disagree, however, and believe there is more upside to come but will follow the Price Drivers.

Google has a car that drives by itself under any traffic conditions--- so I wonder why TA can't be coded succesfully? It must be that it requires the subjective guesses of the user to work. surf
