OMIGOSH, after that response, only 3 words will do here:

You've just got to be another American engineer out of work...it's quite a "tell".

OMIGOSH, engineer! That's a good one :p

No, I think engineers make some of the worst trading candidates.

I'm just another trader doing my weekend homework and taking breaks to shift to the other side of my brain and get a good laugh here on ET :p

Surfer you might enjoy this.

The link is about an ET poster (he stopped posting recently because he owes Atticus money).

He can talk the talk as well as anyone. Has posted here and BMT as a 25 year pro trader, makes lots of money and travels the world.

I was inspired by his stories of success.

But he was too loose with some personal info and someone dug up some dirt on him.

This is not the first time someone has been outed for masquerading as something they are not.

So while some people might not like Surfers doubting nature, with tales like this you can understand why anyone would doubt online claims.

It does make one jaded and question who you can trust.

Guess you have to approach anything online with a dose of skepticism.

However, I do still believe in "The Siberian Crow".

Interesting-- what was his name on elite? surf

Quote from NoDoji:

When I read Market Wizards, interviews with the top traders in terms of big rewards, I seem to recall that "big risk" was no more than a 7% loss on a position before cutting bait. They'd exit and re-evaluate, re-enter if something changed.

It's quite possible all these different traders trading different things at different times and making huge returns were all in collusion for the book, claiming they used tight risk management just to get more of us amateurs to trade with stops :D

hi NoD

Didn't the interviews suggests not to make a loss at the first place? :D

j/k

In all seriousness I find this very discouraging..............

What a pig--- i never read his material and am happy not to have--who or what would write things like that in a trading forum?
surf

plus, I found this to be very disturbing, tell me its not true--

Quote from beachhouse:

hey, your buddy Nodoji was busted. She turns out to be a vendor for Al Brooks.

You seems to be the guy selling the webinar.

Sooner or later, readers of this website will know your motive.

Keep selling. :D

I'm not personally selling anything of Brooks, but I do recommend his book "Reading Price Charts Bar By Bar" very highly to any trader with some basic price action trading experience under their belt. It is the most useful resource I've seen, but it's an advanced trading book.

Ok, thanks for clarifying. Recommending is much different than being a stealth vendor. surf

That's right, Willie! You have to be like oilfxpro and never trade TA/PA setups that fail because they're very low probability trades :p

I do admit I may have once briefly scared an ET member I offered to help when I had an introductory Skype convo something like:

Me: OK, you have your 5-min chart up?

ET-er: Yup.

Me: And you have your 1-min chart up?

ET-er: Sure do.

Me: And you have your Visa or MasterCard handy?

:D
