I don't share the passion of dancing on Surf's bones as well. He may trade good or bad, bash TA but he looks like an overall nice person to me.

I'd rather prefer Surf stay with us and we continue discussions. Sometimes arguments, but overall we had some nice talks too despite our disagreement.

Exactly, we make the community, agree or not with his views he can stay on topic.

I like him too. He can't trade for sure, but the entertainment value is excellent.
If Surf leaves, I might have to bring Hershey back from my Ignore... Please Surf, don't do that to me!

Wait, where is my popcorn?

I actually think there are much worse traders than surf out there.

But IMHO it's generally hard to judge someones qualities as a trader from some forum posts...

I disagree moderators can't participate in active arguments. They violate ethics only if they use their button to delete certain posts or ban someone for an on topic disagreement with their position.

But participate as simple users. Why not?
Agree - participate, sure. However, they carry their 'badge', or symbol of power, in whatever forum they are posting in.

Read Cialdini, The Psychology of Persuasion...google specifically the psychology of authority or the authority principle.

The Milgram experiment is an old study, probably a wiki on that. Cialdini also writes about:

A later study where the "Dr." gives instructions to experienced nurses over the phone. The instructions are clearly wrong, and breaking a few protocols. 95% of the time the nurses followed the Dr.'s guidance. Disregarded their own common sense and experience.

Apparently, this will only be problem with surf readers that are nurses. :D

+1

From what I have read, Surf has always been mature and respectful.

Anonymity sure brings out some interesting comments.

Everyone's response is a reflection on them not their target.

Come on, altogether now (sing it out loud)

...Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things...

Tidal Wave ALERT...

Surfer is on the long board!!!

looks like the dollar might get weaker against the euro....and the Yen might go to 120 as it's on a different course...

to me, this means don't sell equities just yet....soon, but I don't think now..

systemic risk??? oh yea...n. korea. and I can't see anything from there that would make the ES go higher....so only lower.

maybe we get a $200 gold rally, currency to zero....bonds even lower in price.....and the internet will be shut down for 1 week...

surf.....good luck.

Behind a polite exterior, the surf is quite a combative person. Just because someone is polite does not make them mature or respectful.

This is what happens when you only read a small portion of someones posts :)

Thank goodness I don't have the time.

Apparently you had a different experience then what I have read. I just reported mine.
