So you think if I don't short in a strong uptrend I don't know how to short? I have learned long ago that I do not short an uptrend. I only short down trends. You have heard the term "catching a falling knife"? That obviously refers to catching the bottom in a downtrend. What you and surf and the other geniuses are trying to do is analogous to trying to catch an arrow in flight. If you don't catch the exact time it stalls you're going to get stabbed. It's the opposite of catching a falling knife. Again if you look back at my post history you will see I did short XLE at $69.84 not too long ago. But I closed that trade out for a tiny profit. I also shorted AMZN a while back with a decent but small profit. So, no I don't only go Long. I just Short very infrequently in an uptrend as per my rules.
Also, since you are making the comment (maybe I am reading too much into it but I doubt it...) apparently to imply I can only trade in a BULL market and don't know how to trade otherwise by calling me a "bull market genius" then what does that make YOU??? Since you and your alter ego consistently LOSE while Shorting in this market? We have been in a BULL MARKET for a little over 8 years now, so the easiest path to making money has been on the long side.
Take a look at what Surf's calls have been in tipranks.com that he so proudly claims as some measure of his success.
Out of 121 calls he has had only 6 short calls in this market. I also find it interesting that NONE of his disastrous calls on this thread and others throughout ET have been posted there.
Not one of his shorts are on there. Not his famed AMD long call and his thinly traded penny stock that is trading only 100k shares a day os not there either. Why is that?
I also happened upon this on tipranks.com and wondered why this was not disclosed at Surf's? Is he ashamed of this disastrous record? Could there possibly be ANOTHER Dave Goodboy instead of DAVID on tipranks.com? I doubt it...
