Supreme Court strikes down NY gun law restricting concealed carry in major Second Amendment case

To make the point the states that will be impacted by this law are also the states with the lowest gun death rates.

I get you all are trying to be high minded and bipartisan but this ruling is absolute bullshit and will lead to more guns on the street and more guns means more death.

Thanks but no. You all are tripping if you think this is a good idea.

So you think that having a patchwork of different gun laws across the U.S. --- with every state and locality having different laws is somehow a good thing?

I think the Court got it right and NY got it wrong.

Guys say they want to conceal carry for self-defense and want to go about the channels already established as legal in NY.

NY says... "eh we dont believe your proper cause claiming self-defense so..... DENIED"

Huge constitutional no no there.

Imagine applying for a legal permit to hold a protest rally against an issue and NY says... eh prove to me that your rally will actually have an effect on this issue or we deny the permit.

It is not a dumb gun law, just one that went a little too far in its restrictions. The law itself is still upheld, just the proper cause element.

As much as people want to cheer the exodus out of NY, the city will still have a demand for people who want to live and work there, especially young people. Shifting demographics wont change NYC status. technology however means families no longer need to live in a cramped apartment when they can live 45 minutes in beautiful suburbs and still work from home. THis is the bigger cause of the exodus.

Citadel and Forbes moved out of NY because the rent for office space is through the roof and you can cut that in half simply moving across the river to North Jersey where your employees can commute easier.

As I said before, with technology you can move your office outside of expensive cities and have full capabilities. Many companies dont want to pay downtown rents on office space when they can buy a building or 4 floors of one outside the city for less.

All the exodus of D.C. is moving to Northern Virginia because you have lots of space, highway and metro access, all the technology you need and employees who can get to work without major traffic jams. It makes a lot of sense.
