1. considering his prior function you should suggest an alternative.
2. him/her is a pc nonsense.
3. the tone of the message leaves something to be desired but it is debatable or better just ignored.
4. the search function should be checked.

I originally hired Joe many years ago when he first started college so he could earn money to get himself through school. This was a part-time job for him from day one, so we both knew the day of his departure would eventually come. He recently earned a degree in finance and has moved on to a job in the commercial real estate industry. I wish him the very best!
