As ever, here on ET, a thread such as this must inevitably fall to the level of a bar room brawl.
On reviewing my own posts I find them, in retrospect, far less polite than I would have liked. I stand by their substance. And my motive was a genuine desire to steer the newcomer rather than a cheap shot at MR.
MR IS a sponsor and this IS the announcements section â he has every right to make such an announcement.
I applaud MR for his restraint under fire. I applaud MR for not resorting to the same sort of sarcasm that I regrettably descended to. Despite my views on vendor systems and the way they are promoted, I suspect that MR is a man of intelligence and integrity who genuinely believes in what he does.
In any event MR, my apologies if I came across as rude and aggressive: if I were able to re-write my posts I would make exactly the same points but in the same civilized manner that you always manage to maintain.
