Perhaps, as, of course, religion is subjective.
As a society goverend by the rule of law, we have decided (or rather it was decided for us, at a point in the past, and the consesus has continued to agree) that there must be right and wrong and the wrong is punishable. Without this order what would our society look like. The dark ages and tribal warfare? I don't know for sure, but without the absolutes the majority chooses to live by I think we would be and are headed for trouble; because it seems that your idea of no absolutes is catching on and it is no longer wrong to take life.
In the markets there are definite absolutes - bad news and the market will go down. It may recover. For price to go lower a trade must be done at a lower price.
There are absolutes whether we choose to acknowledge it or not.

Can anyone PROVE to me that I am a carbon based creature? Just like the moon thing...of course they can, they just need a spectrometer or an ion telescope or whatever other scientific gadget they use. Yes, people have PROVED these things, the moon and sun one cost many scientists their dignity for some time as the Cahtolic church refused to believe this and even jailed some of them. Just because you are incapable of proving something scientificially doesnt mean it doesnt exist. These things you have mentioned are subjective facts, regardless of what some choose to believe. What other may choose to believe regarding these are simply incorrect if they are not what science has determined.

Right and wrong are conceptual labels belonging to the realm of thought, as such they are relative and subjective... They are anything but absolute...
You said for you and your religion it is wrong to steel from your neighbor... what if that were the only way to feed your starving child??? Is it still wrong???
True, I did open it to discuss BEHAVIOR having to do with "silly" superstition..wearing the same lucky shirt, stuff like that..a light-hearted look at what I call "vodoo".
However the thread evolved to specific religion just prior to the point I made the statement you refer to (pg. 67). I later engaged iin the thread as it evolved. If you wish to think of religion as "superstition", I will not argue the point. I am sure others will.

Bad analogy perhaps, I was thinking of the news on WCOM and watching the news on Zerox and saw the market moving lower. Perhaps that 1 particular statement may be off. So I will retract the bad news statement. But it is a tradable probabilty.
We belong in the realm of thought, we are in that realm. Is there any escaping that?
Yes, it is still wrong. Would I do it - perhaps. Pardonable, probably; excusable, probably; but definately not right.

Commisso - outside of your smug superiority, (my percetption) I appreciate the comments and q's as we both know already that neither one us will convince the other. But debate on a closed subject can help us confirm why we beleve what we believe.
