so if someone kills and rapes your family, faster, would that be evil- or simply an unproductive violation of agreed upon societal code?

if you cannot distinguish between right and wrong and bureaucratic infraction, then you are truly a monster. it is this kind of twisted teaching in the universities that leads students to say they cannot discern between swerving their car to kill a dog and swerving their car to kill a human child (an actual occurrence of an actual defended view).

thought processes such as these would eventually turn our reality into a living hell. thank the Lord we are protected from the insane folly of man. you are your own judge and jury, faster. the madness of your words condemns you better than i.

God is the author of free will.

Evil is that which displeases God.

Only a created being with the free will to go against God's desires can perpetrate evil.

(Free will in the enlightenment sense is in many ways a false concept, but it will have to suffice for this brief explanation.)
 
Faster, your responce simply shows your refusal to accept anything as evidence (of course that is your choice) that millions of people, over thousands of years have accepted a evidence. And your belief in the religion of evolution, (for that is what it is, an unproven theory, with no basis in science) that is but not quite 200 yrs old, is quite telling. I have seen and read the case for evolution, but the therory has no backing (evidence). There is evidence of micro-evolution (change within a species, that which Darwin saw); but there is no evidence of macro-evolution (one species changing to another species).

You are willing to dismiss any and all evdience without submitting your own for your case.

as you know, there is another realm of thought in christianity known as PREDESTINATION. this concept dictates that god has already determined who will believe and who will not believe, being that god is said to be omnipotent--- how can there be "free will" ? if he knows what is going to happen before it happens, how can it be changed ? this goes back to my original thesis that some people are wired to believe and some are wired not to believe, in the end. chas states that he was an atheist untill his late 20's then believed---- he was "wired" to believe even though he went against this "predestination" at first. another dude known as paul aka saul in the bible also changed sides in mid life. he was predestined, regardless of his previous ways before the conversion.

OK so if God A) is the author of man and b) man is the author of evil... then God is not the author of evil???

Why was Adam told not to eat from the tree??? Why was the tree put there in the first place??? And if God genuinely did not want him to eat it, then why say anything at all, for as the author of man wouldn't he have been able to do a better a job of assessing the psycological make up of the human condition???

Is it not so, that Satan in the book of Job was pretty much the prosecutor of the heavens, the distirct attorney if you will... I mean when man is not allowed to pass thru the pearly gates he is sent to hell with Satan right???
Who is Satan carrying out his duties for if not his creator and ruler which is in turn God? I mean every district attorney I know is employed by someone...

All I am asking is if I accept your conception of God... and the model of him as creator/ruler and we as subjects/victims?, would I not have to accept him as the author of evil and as myself as a victim???

IMO no... For all human concepts must be defined ultimately by its anti-thesis... Good could not exist without evil, in the same way beauty could not exist without ugliness...

I mean these are just labels we are talking about right... lables to define reality...

BTW; I am sorry if I assumed wrong with my earlier question... My intuition told me that you believed in the christian conception of God and I was just looking for someone to answer my questions
