This one's my favorite - have it as my Windows wallpaper...

Called a "celestial maternity ward," this nebula appears to contain stars in the process of being formed.

I think the Hubble is one of the greatest ever uses of public money. Lots of beautiful, mind-expanding stuff at the site.

Thanks to all, by the way, for their comments on my earlier post. I'll have a response to Darkhorse probably later...

i agree with the concept of the big bang. the red shift phenomenon does suggest a center point that the universe has been expanding from. while i do understand that space and time were created from the big bang, the most puzzling thing for me is this: what was before the big bang? if nothing, how did we get something from nothing? how did the big bang even occur if there was nothing before it? where did the big bang come from? what made it start? i realize these aren't easy questions, but what does current knowledge suggest?

Gordon,

Nothing and something are creations of the mind, they are not exactly reality...

PEACE and good trading,

first of all, i have no religion. however, in a way, science is my religion.

You said it science is your religion, and alot of what is accetped as science (darwin) is pure belief and hope, no scientific proof.

You want science, look at the evidence available for a world wide flood. There is more EVIDENCE of that, than that for evolution and all its belidfs lead to.
