Superior intellect - is that enough?

Quote from LeonPhelps:

Friend, "superior" is an objective term with reference to intellect. And not synonymous with omniscience. Braggadocio in absentia. As I have clearly stated, there are many more requisites for a successful trader than mere intellect. The question is: Is intellect a prerequisite?

To answer your question, YES, intellect is a prerequisite, but, NO, SUPERIOR intellect is NOT a prerequisite. See the book "New Market Wizzards"...it's a topic that came up often.

However, although you've stated that you are not here to brag, you have to realize that your audience will perceive you as doing exactly that. Get past your 20 year old standardized test scores. Telling people this, along with your IQ, level of career success, and salary make you sound deperate for approval. You should also ask yourself how humble you are. If you are in fact both desperate and non-humble, that will kill you in the markets...much more so than if your IQ were lower.

I question your motives for posting. You would have known the answer to your question if you've done much of any reading on trading.

Quote from LeonPhelps:

Not meant as bragging, but I'm smarter than 99.9% of you jokers. From IQ measurement, SAT scores and every standardized test I've taken, I'm in the 0.1% percentile. No BS, just the fact.

So does this mean that I should be a successful trader? Ought a "genius" with at least some common sense dominate the markets?

If you were really interested in generating responses to your question why would you call the ET population "jokers." This move alone tells me that though you may be the smartest person in the world in regards to math, english, and academic subjects, you are one of the dumber ones in regards to people/street smarts. Maybe trading will do you some good and take that pride out of you.

...I think there are less "Naturals" in trading than professional sports...
I'm guessing that you meant "fewer" rather than "less." However, I won't pretend to know how great minds think.

Oh, I don't know. Isn't hitting a button to frag the bad guy about the same as hitting a short angle, crosscourt topsin passing shot?
no

Thanks for the red ink. No sleep - proof-reading + 22 oz Old Guardian = getting poked by the grammar squad.

What you THINK doesn't mean shit, a little guy.

It's what you DO that matters the most.

Go ahead, try to outperform 99.9% of traders. Market loves people like you!

:D
Issues?

Quote from pdwst33:

The fact that you refer to your peers and/or those who are trading against you as "jokers" says it all.
Have you been around ET long? I think "jokers" is a fair characterization.

Ever hear of hubris?
Wasn't he a civil rights activist?
